I am interested in this book in the link between writing and war. Can writing have an effect on psychic trauma?
Literature does much more than distract us—it teaches us to think in order to lead us to transform ourselves. We all need stories, narratives, words to give shape to the shapelessness of war. To try to understand how this irrepressible need to write in times of war can be healing—that is the purpose of this book.
Through an alphabet book of authors from the past and present, I wanted to inspire a desire to understand writers' relationship to writing, but above all, to inspire a desire to read or reread works that can enlighten us in the painful times each of us may go through.
